The Access for Learning (A4L) Resource Registry allows school districts across NY State to leverage Data Protection Agreements (DPAs) that contain the necessary elements required by NYS Education Law 2-d for protecting student Personally Identifiable Information (PII). Through the support of local, state, regional and national workgroups and consortia, there are over 2,960 DPAs across a wide variety of products and vendors available for districts to leverage, with that number growing all the time. In the MORIC region, we have seen utilization grow to 43 districts with 129 individual users. Those districts have posted over 3,175 DPAs to their District Registries, without the need for local DPA negotiation with third parties.
